I will agree that the flow improvements of switching the pressurized piping will be more drastic than identical changes on the suction side, but that is not to say that the suction side is negligible.

Its like sucking a drink through a straw (the drinkers mouth being the compressor). A smaller straw will be harder to drink through than a larger straw of the same geometry.

The more drink you want (larger turbos) the larger straw (inlet piping) you need :)
